OCV Reinforcements - CemFil

While concrete is an excellent building material it does have an “Achilles heel”. As with all cementitious materials, concrete is relatively brittle, inherently weak in resistance to tensile forces and will crack under low levels of tensile strain.
As concrete sets, it shrinks and develops internal stresses resulting in micro-cracks forming during the first few days. These micro-cracks may increase in size with time. Thisphenomenonsusually referred to as plastic shrinkage cracking and has been the subject of much research.

Mechanical Properties Of Cement Paste And cement Mortar
Research has focused on the use of fibers for reducing the number and size of these cracks (ref 1, 2, 3, 4). It was found that the addition of relatively small amount of fiber helped to reduce the size and number of these cracks at least in the early days. As a result a whole new industry, Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC), has been created and the use of FRC products has grown rapidly.
In turn, this growth has spawned an increasing array of fiber types and Committee 549 of the American Concrete Institute in their State of the Art Report ”Thin Reinforced Cementitious Products” listed the properties of some of these fibers.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Anti-Crak® HD (High Dispersion) is an engineered AR-glass chopped strand designed for mixing in concrete and all hydraulic mortars.

PRODUCT APPLICATION
Anti-Crak® HD fibers are typically used at low addition level to prevent cracking & improve the performance of concrete, flooring, renders or other special mortar mixes. They incorporate easily into mixes creating a tridimensional homogeneous network of reinforcement in the matrix.

Anti-Crak® HD fibers can be added at the central mixing plant to the wet concrete mix; or directly into the ready-mix truck.

Anti-Crak® HD fibers do not protrude through the surface and require no additional finishing procedures. There inforcement is incorporated in the concrete mass and is invisible on the finished surface.

Anti-Crak® HP 67/36 is a “High Performance” Alkali Resistant glass macro fiber, engineered to reinforce against plastic, thermal and drying shrinkage cracking. Anti-Crak® HP 67/36 increases flexural strength and ductility, and adds toughness, impact and fatigue resistance to the concrete.

Anti-Crak® HP 67/36 can be used as secondary reinforcement and in specific applications also as primary reinforcement.

Anti-Crak® HP 67/36 disperses quickly and evenly throughout the concrete matrix, because the specific gravity is similar to the aggregates used in concrete. This inherent characteristic of glass guarantees high fiber performance throughout the concrete mass.

Anti-Crak® HP 67/36 has been specifically designed to replace secondary and primary reinforcement (welded wire reinforcement, light rebar, steel and synthetic fibers) in residential, commercial and industrial slabs-on-ground, compression layers, pavements and precast concrete.

Cem-FIL® 61 is an Alkali Resistant glass fiber assembled roving designed for use in the manufacture of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GRC) composites by both premix and simultaneous spray methods.

PRODUCT APPLICATION:
In the premix process, Cem-FIL® 61 is chopped into small strands with high abrasion resistance. The fiber remains integral and this provides easy incorporation into the matrices and efficient workability.

Cem-FIL® 61’s new sizing technology reduces the water absorption of the fiber strand, allowing a reduction in the water content of the matrix, or an increase in the fiber content. In the spray process,

Cem-FIL® 61 has good split efficiency and easy chopping with low fuzz generation. Cem-FIL® 61’s hydrophobic behavior makes the mix more fluid and that ensures better compaction and easier release of trapped air.
